Movie Review: Allied
Brad Pitt's new movie, Allied, is a love story/adventure that takes place during World War II. Pitt meets his love interest, Marion Cotillard, in Casablanca. They are both assigned to take out a Nazi ambassador. Both fall in love while they plan their hit. They marry and return to England once the job is done. Cotillard is supposedly French, but Pitt soon finds out from his work that she may be a German spy. He does some of his own investigating and things don't look too good. The film is based on a true story.
My Review: Pitt still looks great. He's got to be in his mid-fifties by now and has no problem playing a leading man next to a much younger actress. Cotillard is gorgeous and reminds of me of a healthier looking Angelina Jolie. There was an obvious chemistry between the two actors that may (according to Hollywood gossip) have continued off the screen. The story was interesting and I really liked the not-so-predictable ending. It was an enjoyable movie that will please both romance fans and history nuts. 4 out of 5 stars.
