The Mandela Effect is the new rage among young conspiracy theorists. The theory states that we live in two parallel universes where things happen slightly different in the one that runs parallel. This is why we remember things a certain way that never was-at least in this reality. This "prooves" the idea that there is an alternative universe that is running its course which occasionally implants memories from it's history into our current universe. Our incorrect memories are not really incorrect.
The name of this conspiracy is from the famous South African, President Nelson Mandela. He died in 2013, but many people believe he died in prison back in the '80s before becoming president.
Some of the top "false memories" are the following:
1) The Berenstain Bears are always spelled the Berenstein Bears. Not because we are bad at spelling, but because this little detail is off somewhere in the alternate universe.
2) Fabreze is believed to be spelled Fabreeze.
3) Jif Peanut Butter is falsely called Jiffy Peanut Butter.
4) KitKat is incorrectly hyphenated in Kit-Kat.
5) Sex and the City is commonly called Sex in the City.
6) Billy Graham is still alive, despite many claiming to have seen the funeral on TV.
7) The Monopoly man does not have a monocle, but many believe that he does.
8) Chick-fil-A is not spelled Chic-fil-A.
9) Curious George never had a tail.
10) Oscar Mayer is not spelled Oscar Meyer.
and my fave....
11) In Silence of the Lambs, I distinctly remember Hannibal Lector saying, "Hello,Clarice." Apparently that never happened. He just said "Hello."
I wonder if this is related to deja vu? Leave a comment. Love to hear your thoughts and views.

Goddess Fish Presents: Second Chance Marquess by Jessica Jefferson
Second Chance Marquess
by Jessica Jefferson
On sale for .99! |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Historical Romance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
When Wilhemina Turner’s
younger sister runs off with a young Lothario, she has no choice but to turn to
the notorious rake who broke his promise and her heart, for assistance. George
Bartlett, the Marquess of Chesterton, hasn’t forgotten the woman who hurt him
so many years ago, but can’t deny her request, knowing that his brother’s
reputation, and fortune, is at risk. A series of misfortunes leave the
straight-laced widow and committed bachelor stranded, sharing both close
quarters and old secrets. But when morning comes, will this unlikely pair find
a second chance at love?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt:
“Fine.” He looked away first, turning his attention back to
the items he’d collected upon his desk. “If you want to join me, then you may.”
She squared her shoulders and stood a bit straighter having
won their duel of wills. “Good.”
Without another word or a single glance, Chesterton left the
room.
Not one to be left behind, Wilhelmina hurried after him,
through the study and up the stairs.
“Where are we going?” she asked once they’d reached the top,
breathless from the burst of activity.
He strode down the corridor, seemingly unaffected by the
brisk climb. “To my bedroom.”
She immediately stopped. “Your bedroom? Why ever would we go
in there?”
Chesterton turned back to her, one sardonic eyebrow arched
high. “To change,” he answered. “You didn’t expect me to head out in this, did
you?” He turned and continued toward the room, looking back at her before
entering. “Are you coming?” he asked, voice smooth as warm chocolate.
This wasn’t the first time she’d been lured into George’s
bedroom. He’d been an earl, the courtesy title bestowed upon him at birth, but
more than that, he’d been a gentleman. Apparently, he’d lost that when he’d
inherited the Marquisate. His bedroom was no longer an inviting sanctuary, and
this invitation was not one of love as it had once been, but a lewd
proposition, tenderness replaced by cruelty, as he watched expectantly for her
reaction.
“I don’t think that’ll be necessary,” she stuttered, trying
in vain to remain calm and collected as he started to untie the sash about his
waist holding his robe closed. He let it fall to the ground and the robe
opened, revealing his chest and torso in all its naked glory.
And it was indeed glorious.
She quickly averted her glance, whipping her head around and
staring attentively at the painting on the wall.
“Is something the matter, Mrs. Turner?”
She was not about to play this game. She didn’t have the
time, and he didn’t deserve the enjoyment it would undoubtedly bring him to see
her suffer so. And most importantly, she couldn’t play because she knew good
and well that she had no chance of winning.
EXCERPT:
He arched down, grabbing my face between his callous palms, and a weird jolt of energy pulsed through me. Instead of pushing him away, strangely, the only thing I could think of was how long it’d been since I felt a man’s hands on my skin. His full focus was on me, the attention sending little tremors of awareness through me, as we stared at each other, speechless, our faces mere inches apart.
Move, Reason. Just fucking go.My mind and body staged a mutiny by refusing to cooperate, as if daring the shifter to make another move. He did by pressing his lips against mine.
No, no, no. This will not do.
Reaching up, I slapped my hands against his wide shoulders with every intention of shoving him away. Instead, my fingers gripped him tight, pulling him closer. My lips parted before he sucked my tongue into his mouth.
Oh, baby Jesus. Why does he taste like my three favorite things—coffee, mint, and cinnamon?
Goddess Fish Presents: The Good Spy Dies Twice by Mark Hosack
The Good Spy Dies Twice
by Mark Hosack
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Thriller
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
"The Good Spy Dies
Twice," the cryptic final words from a condemned death row inmate draw
Jake Boxer, the one-time king of cable news, out of retirement, setting him on
a collision course with a deadly global conspiracy involving his secretive
wife, a depraved New World Order, and the "guests" at a posh Alaskan
ski resort. Everyone is a suspect. Part spy thriller, part whodunit, "The
Good Spy Dies Twice" is the first book in Mark Hosack's explosive new
thriller series, Bullseye. Called "an undeniably spry and rousing
espionage tale" by Kirkus Reviews.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt:
Mike and Tim, the remaining members of the Bullseye crew,
had been watching quietly from two chairs flanking the room’s only window. The
team was staying at, and broadcasting from, the fourth floor of the Napoleon
Hostel, a cramped but tidy place less than a mile from Moscow’s Red Square. The
room’s window offered a plum view of St. Basil’s candy-striped spires, the
Kremlin’s dollhouse facade, and, just a few blocks beyond, the massive
Lubyanka—a tiered bureaucratic building that once housed both KGB headquarters
and the infamous Lubyanka prison. It was now home to the FSB. Jake was sure
that just as he was looking out at them, they were looking in at him.
Contrary to what Claire said, he had seen tails since they’d
arrived—civilian cars following their taxi from Domodedovo International. Bums
who hopped into subway trains right before the doors closed. Jake had seen
glints of light following them from high in the sky more than once—Dozor-3
Russian combat drones armed with cameras and for all he knew, ballistic
missiles.
Before they’d left the States, Jake had been all too sure
that Claire’s admirable skills had secured the proper filming visas, but now he
was beginning to think differently: Had Putin lured them within his borders to
make it easier to kill them off? Was this all because Bullseye was targeting
Russian corruption on the global stage? It sounded like a wild conspiracy, but
was it really that unbelievable?

Book Review: Jeff Bennington's Aliens: Examining Jesus Christ in a UFO Universe
https://www.amazon.com/ALIEN-Examining-Jesus-Christ-Universe-ebook/dp/B00KKTTNZ4/ref=sr_1_4?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1489194280&sr=1-4&keywords=jeff+bennington |
I have wondered for years about the Bible and its angels along with alien/spaceship witness accounts in modern times. Aliens and angels have so many similarities. It's hard to say what is spiritual and what is extraterrestrial. Jeff Bennington's Alien: Examining the Jesus Christ in a UFO Universe adds insight to knowing the difference between the two realities in a well-researched and logical way.
Bennington takes Ezekiel's wheel, Noah's Ark, and much more in analyzing both Biblical reference and UFOs. After reading this book, I believe it's a MUST read for UFO believers and Christians or anyone who is confused in both beliefs. I loved everything about it. The author must have spent endless hours researching this topic.
Like the author, I also watch Ancient Aliens. I also read about several true alien sightings and have even visited Roswell. But I also go to church most Sundays and participate in a Christian Bible study. This book refuses to dismiss religion as a bunch of kooks who didn't have the right vernacular for their time period. Bennington even goes as far as saying that some of these alien accounts could be brought on by fallen angels or even the devil himself. Bennington deftly blends both beliefs into coming up with one perspective-God created everything, even the universe where aliens live. This is a 5-star no-brainer! Outstanding work!

Movie Review: Purpose of a Dog's Life
Purpose of Dog's Life got some bad press when it was initially released. Critics screamed dog abuse. Apparently there was a scene in which the dog was not cooperating by jumping in a lake and the director allegedly coerced the dog. Later on, it came out that there was no abuse what-so-ever during the filming. Whatever happened, it was a movie made for dog lovers. I have a hard believing any one was inappropriate.
The basic story line is about a dog who dies and then gets reincarnated into other dog lives throughout the movie. The first life happens with a boy who has problems, but loves his dog more than anything. The dog gets to grow-up with him and then dies. His second life is with a policeman. The dog dies in the line of duty after saving his owner. His third life is a very happy life with a college girl who marries and has a family. His fourth and final life in the movie is with an abusive/neglectful couple who chain the dog up in their front yard. The dog eventually finds his way back to the first owner who is now an old man.
My Review: Great story, great acting, and great animal acting as well. I loved everything about this movie, including the box of Kleenex that I burned through during each scene. The dog is always the star, but manages to draw you into the lives of his owners. I really liked this. It only adds to the title-A Dog's Purpose. For all dog owners, we are the dog's purpose-always were and always will be. Dogs are not selfish, but selfless. We are all they care about.
This is one of those movies that screams SAPPY, but each tear was worth it. Dogs are worth all of the destruction, aggravation and heartbreak that goes into caring for them. I highly recommend this for dog lovers who want a good cry. 5/5 Stars.

—
EXCERPT:
“How do you know, Mr. Logan?” a uniformed cop named Murphy asked Jake while a couple of young paramedics tended to Logan. Murphy had a low forehead and wide-set eyes, and spoke like he’d been dropped on his head multiple times as a child.
“We work together.”“You a PI, too?”
“Sort of. I was learning the ropes from Jack. Don’t have a license yet.”
Murphy jotted in a notebook. Paramedics wheeled Logan out of the office on a stretcher, and Jake wondered how they would get him down those three flights of narrow stairs. A rail-thin, black detective with a shaved head and a cheap, tan suit slipped into the room. His polar opposite partner squeezed through the door, red faced with beads of sweat rolling down his jowls from the three-flight climb. The fat one was as tall as he was wide and waddled into Logan’s office. The bald one talked to Murphy, took some notes, and turned to Jake.
“I’m Detective Ogio. You know Jack Logan long, Mr. Caldwell?”
“Three years,” Jake answered. “We were supposed to meet tonight.”
“To do what?”
The detective waited with raised eyebrows for an answer. Ogio’s acorn eyes were hooded, giving him a sleepy look, but there was light there. The guy wasn’t stupid. He was suspicious of Jake, which pissed him off because he’d given them no reason to be suspicious. Plus, Jake couldn’t tell the cop the truth because it would start a whole line of questions he didn’t want to answer. He had to stonewall them.
“We were going out to dinner,” Jake lied.
“Where?”
“Does it matter?”
“It does if I’m asking the question.”
“I didn’t do this,” Jake said.
“I didn’t say you did. You’re a big guy, though. Six two and what…two hundred twenty pounds?”
“Six three, two thirty. Like that matters. Why would I beat the shit out of him and then call you guys?”
“Like I said, I didn’t say you did. Why are you getting defensive?”
“You think I’m being defensive?” Jake asked.
Ogio’s head ticked to the side. “A little.”
“I’m worried, that’s all. My buddy just got his ass kicked.”
“What were you guys working on?”
Jake shifted, tired of answering these banal questions.
“We were between jobs.”
“Must make it tough to learn the ropes.”
“What ropes?”
Ogio’s thin lips pressed together. “The ones Officer Murphy said you were learning from Mr. Logan.”
“A bit. We done here? I want to go to the hospital.”
“Why do you think Mr. Logan’s office was trashed?”
“Somebody was looking for something.” Jake hoped the detective caught his sarcasm. He laid it on pretty thick.
“You think? Maybe you should be a detective.”
“Maybe you should too.”
Ogio grinned. He clearly had a good nature. “He say anything to you about anyone being after him?”
“He said he did a lot of divorce cases. Maybe someone looked for photos of their cheating wife.”
“Always possible,” the detective said. He handed Jake his card—Thomas Ogio.
“Where are they taking Logan?”
“Truman Medical Center,” Ogio answered, flipping his notebook shut. “You got my number. Call me if you think of anything else. Stay reachable.”
Ogio headed toward Logan’s office to join his partner. Jake strode out the door, down the steps, and out into the early March evening. He stood on the sidewalk wondering what to do. Did Logan meet with his contact that would lead them to Voleski? Did the contact do this to him? Was this about another case? Somebody wanted something up there and it wasn’t divorce photos. What did Logan say? The less you know on this one, the better.
Jake rubbed his hand over the day’s growth on his face. The one person who could answer his questions and give him a direction to go was Logan. Jake jumped in his truck and headed toward Truman Medical Center.

The Game Begins
Victoria Danann
Publication date: February 27th 2017
Genres: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Young Adult
When it came to the attention of the old ones that their creations, the Earth gods, had been playing games at the expense of humankind for millennia, they put a stop to it. But the rebellious gods were far too addicted to their games to give them up. After several summit meetings, they voted to use their own children as players and locate the playing field in the most treacherous environment in the known universe. High school.
To make it even more interesting, they would strip their children of their memories and withhold the rules of the game. The players believed they were ordinary kids until they were transferred to R. Caine High School. When odd things begin to happen, the players gradually realize they have special gifts or attributes. But that doesn’t mean they can’t die.

EXCERPT:
My name is Ever Moore.
I know. It makes me wince every time I say it. When I’m eighteen, I plan to have it legally changed to something that doesn’t make people laugh. But right now I’m stuck.My dad thinks puns are the highest form of humor. He calls it ‘word play’. That’s right. I’m the spawn of nerds. My dad creates video games. My mother is an ethics professor at UCLA who thinks the battle between good and evil begins at home.
If you want to know just how weird it can get at the Thanksgiving table, I can go one better. My grandfather was a big deal rock star in the seventies. You wouldn’t know the name of the band. So there’s no point in name dropping. After a visit, he exits with a two-finger peace salute like all the other well-adjusted hippie grandparents, but he doesn’t say, “Peace.”
He says, “Rock steady.”
Ugh!
My family is big on manners. They’re too strict to let me say what I think, especially about Buzz’s love life. My grandfather doesn’t want to be called Grandpa or Grandad or Gramps or anything close to normal. Oh no. He wants to be called ‘Buzz’. I have no idea why. That is not his name.
Anyway, the best protest I can mount is rolling my eyes. I keep trying to get his attention and roll my eyes back further into my head when he does the ‘rock steady’ thing, but he will not be deterred.
Anyway I was leading a completely typical and deliciously angsty teenage life in Austin, Texas when my parents were suddenly offered jobs in the LA area at the same time. It was weird, but weird is part of my normal. Always has been.
Since my grandad, the rocker, still lives in LA with the latest girlfriend who’s barely legal – she’s two years older than I am and her name is Charmin, yes, like the toilet paper. If that was my name, I’d have the decency to go by something like Charm, which would really be making lemonade from lemmons. But not Charmin. I don’t think she’s bright enough to understand what people are thinking whenever they say her name. Anyway, with the jobs and the fact that ‘Buzz’ lives there, moving seemed like a good idea.
To them.
